Coconut Ghee

Coconut Ghee

Life has a funny way of giving you baffling and difficult choices. In an attempt to spare you at least one, we decided to make coconut ghee. harmonica coconut ghee contains 50% coconut oil and 50% cow ghee so you don’t have to choose. Coconut ghee is very well suited for high- heat cooking and is ideal for people who are sensitive towards dairy as it contains no lactose or casein.

Typically, the most widely spread oils for cooking are plant- based. What most people don’t realize however, is that when plant-based oils are heated they oxidize and cause chemical reactions that our bodies would do well to avoid. Coconut ghee has a high smoking point and that makes it ideal for heating. It’s also a source of valuable fatty acids and more easily digested compared with other animal fats.

What's in it

Organic cow ghee and coconut oil 50/50.

How's it made

We melt the butter over medium-low heat. When it's melted we skim the whey off the surface. Then we do it until the butter turns clear and the milk solids sink to the bottom and gives the ghee a nutty, butterscotch flavor. We mix the cow ghee with the organic coconut oil 50/50%. Then we put the coconut ghee in glass jars.

As it is solid at room temperature, it can be used in baking recipes, for frying, for greasing baking pans and as a replacement for butter or vegetable oil in recipes.

Coconut oil is highly stable unlike other vegetable oils, so that you can keep it unrefrigerated in your pantry for a long time and it will not go rancid.

No aroma - it's perfect for all the baked or cooked goods.

Coconut ghee works beautifully for sauteing, frying up pancakes, cooking vegetables, and stir-frying.

Coconut ghee is with higher smokepoint than the regular coconut oil.

It's great for people with sensitivity to milk products.
