Cauliflower, carrots, red peppers, the traditional Bulgarian royal pickle has something for everyone. Snug in a jar topped with brine, that’s how the crunchy veggies from the garden could be kept through winter.

Every Bulgarian home would have their own combination of ingredients, depending on what they grew or what was best and freshest at the market.

In addition to the classic veggies, our recipe also includes cabbage and a bit of celery and garlic for extra flavour. A right royal treat!

What's in it

Our royal pickle is made of honest, delicious organic vegetables: cauliflower, red peppers, carrots, celery, cabbage. To make the magic work, we've also added cider vinegar, a bit of raw sugar, garlic and spices.

How's it made

At the height of autumn, when the veggies have soaked up all the goodness from the summer sun, they are gathered, washed, chopped, placed in jars, topped with brine and stored.
