Harmonica Biotic+ wafer with added probiotics is our latest innovation. It reflects our constant search for the perfect balance between tasty and healthy. It’s as crispy and delicious as the classic one, with the added  benefit of specially selected probiotic bacteria and prebiotic fibers (agave inulin).

What is inulin?

The inulin we use in several of our products is a natural prebiotic. It’s extracted from the agave plant. The inulin stimulates the development of the beneficial microorganisms in the gut. In food production, it’s used as a structure-building ingredient, while in the intestinal microbiome, it feeds the good bacteria. The white in color, slightly sweet plant substance is resistant to the stomach and small intestine digestive acids. Since the inulin is a soluble fiber (on the way through the body, a gel is created), it doesn’t break down in the upper gastrointestinal tract and reaches the large intestine intact.


Why are probiotics important?

There are more than 500 different types of bacteria living in our digestive system. Here are the three main groups:
• Pathogenic (causing diseases)
• Potentially pathogenic (might turn into pathogenic under certain circumstances)
• Beneficial (having a positive effect)
The proper functioning of our digestive and immune system depends on the ratio between good and bad bacteria. Stress, irregular diet, antibiotics, lack of sleep are some of the many situations that cause the decrease of good bacteria. Probiotics help their development and keep our bodies balanced. So take them regularly and trust your gut!

What's in it

Organic wholegrain einkorn flour (30%), organic cane sugar, organic coconut butter (17.5%), organic sunflower seed paste (13%), organic skimmed milk, organic low-fat cocoa powder, organic agave inulin, organic sunflower oil. And our favourite probiotic cultures (1.1%), :

  • L.bulgaricus
  • Bifidobacterium longum
  • L. plantarum
  • L. gasseri

Antioxidant: organic rosemary extract. Raising agent: baking soda and a little salt.

How it's made

The einkorn wafer sheets are baked. All other ingredients are mixed into a cream. Wafers and cream are then layered and cut into shapes.
