Cocoa spread with hazelnuts – vegan

Significantly less sugar, compensated by a considerable amount of hazelnut butter – the lavish 50%.

Short, extremely short. That’s the life span of a 200 gr jar of harmonica’s cocoa spread with hazelnuts. It starts with a little dip “just to try” and continues with a spoonful. And another one, and another… Until it’s over. The remarkably delicious taste makes it impossible for the spread to survive long in the jar with the golden lid.

Besides being incredibly tasty, the spread’s uniqueness lies in its innovative recipe with four ingredients. One of them, the inulin, makes harmonica’s cocoa spread with hazelnuts stand out among similar products. A natural prebiotic fiber, the inulin has several positive effects on the body. It helps the beneficial bacteria develop, improves the lipid metabolism, and supports the regulation of the blood sugar levels. What is more, the fiber encourages calcium absorption in the body. Last but not least for all the foodies, the inulin makes for the spread’s thick texture making it slightly liquid and perfectly spreadable.

We voted for no palm oil, no flavoring substances, and no soy lecithin. Or all the bulk, you won’t miss. While most cocoa spreads contain more than 55% added sugar, harmonica’s recipe offers amazingly  low sugar percentage (cane sugar, only 20%) without reducing the indulgence.

What is inulin?

The inulin we use in several of our products is a natural prebiotic. It’s extracted from the agave plant. The inulin stimulates the development of the beneficial microorganisms in the gut. In food production, it’s used as a structure-building ingredient, while in the intestinal microbiome, it feeds the good bacteria. The white in color, slightly sweet plant substance is resistant to the stomach and small intestine digestive acids. Since the inulin is a soluble fiber (on the way through the body, a gel is created), it doesn’t break down in the upper gastrointestinal tract and reaches the large intestine intact.

What's in it

Only 4 simple ingredients: 50% organic hazelnut butter made of Bulgarian hazelnuts, organic agave inulin, organic cane sugar, and 6% organic cocoa powder.

How it's made

We mix harmonica Hazelnut Butter with cocoa powder, cane sugar, and inulin until we get a smooth texture. Then, the mixture goes into jars, closed with golden lids for some glamour.
