We calculated our carbon footprint for 2021 and set targets to reduce our emissions. We documented the entire process and the results in a report, and we’re ready to take action.

Why Do We Measure Emissions?
Because of climate change. We see it as the most urgent and important issue that we all need to address. Reducing our carbon footprint is one of our top priorities.
What Is a Carbon Footprint?
The first step is to identify the sources of greenhouse gas emissions, then measure them, and finally create an action plan to reduce them.
How Did We Work on the Report?
We put together a project team (thanks, Marto and Toma) and set our goals. We brought in Wind of Change to make sure we got it right. Together, we defined the scope of the report and collected the data (which took some time). Based on the results, we created an action plan, and the report was ready to publish.
What Did We Include in the Calculation?
Everything we are currently able to quantify.
Many activities cannot yet be quantified and therefore have not been included, particularly those related to agriculture and the processing of raw materials. We aim to include these in our future reports.
The 2021 report covers the activities of our office and warehouse, as well as transport and packaging.

Why Don’t We Report Only What We’re Directly Responsible For?
Because we wanted a complete picture of our impact. Indirect emissions often account for nearly 75% of an organization’s total emissions. We wanted to broaden the scope of our actions as much as possible and think long term, so we can understand the opportunities and risks ahead as we move toward decarbonization.
We wanted to understand our full carbon impact because we are in a climate crisis, and action is urgently needed now. Our ultimate goal is to become carbon neutral, and that’s impossible without understanding all the sources of emissions associated with our activities. The EU’s goal is to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 — we hope to get there well before then.
What Is Our Carbon Footprint?

How Will We Reduce Our Carbon Footprint?
Our first goal is to reduce emissions from our office and warehouse by 60% through the following actions:
- switching to renewable sources of electricity,
- using recycled materials for packaging,
- reducing emissions from commuting by enabling remote work and organizing carpooling,
- gradually switching to electric vehicles for company cars and exploring electric options for freight transport,
- making sure everyone on our team drives efficiently.
We’d like to thank the team who worked on this report, and we highly recommend working with the experts at Wind of Change.
